Not only did I miss the England v. France match today because I had to work on a Sunday, but England manged to lose a One-nil in 2 minutes of injury time. As Chris from Crooked Timber declares the loss is:
Not fatal, but very deflating to English morale and it is the worst way to lose a game, to think you’re home and dry and then to concede twice in extra time and I’m feeling almost as let down now as I did when Man U beat Bayern Munich in the European Cup (it isn’t quite that bad)."
On another soccer note as yankees, we can celebrate being on step closer to World Cup glory as the US beat Grenada 3-0 thanks to two goals from DeMarcus Beasley. Ironically, just after Reagan's death, the US invades .... err flies to ... Grenada next Sunday for the second leg.
